We're (way) over 40. Deal with it.

I don’t care what anyone says; I want my own money. I don’t want to get (or give) an “allowance” or to have to answer for every pair of shoes I buy (which would mean a whole lot of explaining). No, I want financial independence from everyone – including my husband. Which is why I’m still happily married. (more…)

The first boy I had a crush on (not counting my imaginary friend, George) was Paul Esposito. In the third grade, Paul pulled my hair, chased me from the school, and when he caught up, kissed me. He warned me not to tell anyone – which I, of course, did – and he vociferously denied it forevermore. That was my first infatuation (which lasted about 25 years, but that’s another story) and it didn’t end well.
Okay; it didn’t end that badly. We went to a girl-ask-boy dance in the 8th grade and kind of hung out together in high school, but it still was unrequited love.
Which makes me think about the timeline of our attraction to the opposite sex. (more…)

It happens when we’re in the inevitable low points in our relationships (you know what I’m talking about, ladies), but it also happens without warning: that simply sexy co-worker that you deal with every day or the client who takes your breath away or the brother of a friend that you constantly cross paths with. Some guys just turn you on.
And you start thinking: what if? (more…)

Women are natural sellers. I came upon this realization recently – maybe during my orgy of Christmas movies (when Jennifer convinces Santa to let her ride in the sleigh and Ashley gets the rich, mean store owner to let her redesign the toy department). The ability to sell – both ideas and things – comes naturally to women and is probably what helps us maintain our sanity. Which is why we always get away with selling the Big Lie.
