Remember how you loved Christmas as a kid? The tree, the twinkling lights, the anticipation. It was magic. And, what made it so magic? It was the surprise – you never knew for sure what Santa was going to bring you. Of course, you had your list and maybe you even mailed it to him. But you were never really, really sure. The Christmases I remember most were the ones where Santa brought me things I didn’t even know I wanted.

I confess. I have lusted in my heart. I’m not talking about the Denzel-Washington-free-pass kind of lusting. I’m talking about the my-heart-is-pounding kind of lusting. It happens when we’re in the inevitable low points in our relationships (you know what I’m talking about, ladies), but it also happens without warning: that simply sexy co-worker that you deal with every day or the client who takes your breath away or the brother of a friend that you constantly cross paths with. Some guys just turn you on.

Women are natural sellers. I came upon this realization recently – maybe during my orgy of Christmas movies (when Jennifer convinces Santa to let her ride in the sleigh and Ashley gets the rich, mean store owner to let her redesign the toy department). The ability to sell – both ideas and things – comes naturally to women and is probably what helps us maintain our sanity. Which is why we always get away with selling the Big Lie.

It’s the end of the year and everyone seems to be worried about spending – especially the government. Well, I’ve got a solution for our overspending, at least for the military. Turn the Pentagon budget over to women.
Yes; we are the ones who know how to shop, how to find a bargain, how to hunt for the best prices. A $250 hammer? Really? I got a whole set of great screwdrivers from Big Lots for about $10. Just imagine what I could do with $533.8 billion. Read the rest of this entry »
