Ever wonder why men run the world? After all, when we were in high school and even college, males were the last people you would rely on to be responsible for anything. Even now, all you have to do is look at the “wonders” that engineers (mostly male) have come up with, like highway jug handles that create 10 minute bottlenecks on your way to work because they never considered the way traffic actually happens (if you don’t know what a jug handle is, you’re not from NJ). But, here they are, in charge of just about everything, from government to business, and we sit here and wonder “How the hell did that happen?” Read the rest of this entry »

Here’s the thing – men get vilified in the press for being jerks, just like women do (case in point: Sarah Palin). And their sexual exploits (e.g. Anthony Weiner) are lambasted and ridiculed. Yeah, we’ve all known some; those Mr. Not So Rights who make our lives miserable. But that’s not the point of this post. My goal is to make you all think about when we can’t all get Mr. Right, should we really fight to get Mr. Not So Right? How do these relationships usually end up? They end – down. Maybe this has more to do with being from a family of 8 than being a woman over 40, but I can’t stand when Gary decides the peanut butter jar is empty when it clearly isn’t. Just now, I noticed he’d left a jar on the counter. “Are we out of peanut butter?” I asked. “Yeah,” he answered, never even acknowledging – as a little side note – that he had emptied it a couple of hours ago and it was still on the counter.
